About the ERC
The Equipment Repair Centre is a joint partnership of MedStore and the Division of Teaching Labs within the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto.
Our goal is provide preventative maintenance and emergency equipment repair services to the local research community with quick turnaround time, quality workmanship, and competitive pricing.
Our dedicated technicians can perform repairs either in-house or on-site at your location.
We can also perform modifications to existing equipment or construction of custom experimental apparatus.

Repairs minimize the need for costly and wasteful replacement of equipment.
How to use the ERC
Bring portable equipment to the MedStore office for in-house servicing, or request on-site service by emailing or faxing in a completed copy of our downloadable Service Agreement. Our location and contact information is listed below.
Our repair technicians will perform a diagnostic assessment, and then contact you with an estimated cost of the repair.
If the estimate is acceptable, we will proceed with the repair and you will be billed for the necessary parts and labour, plus applicable taxes. The labour associated with provision of the initial estimate will be waived from your final bill only for accepted in-house repairs.
Alternatively, if you wish to reject our estimate and cancel the job, you will be billed only for the labour associated with provision of the estimate, to a maximum of 0.5h for in-house and 1h for on-site repairs, plus applicable taxes.
If a repair is deemed impossible to perform by our technicians, or simply not cost-effective, you will similarly be billed only for the labour associated with provision of this assessment, plus applicable taxes.
